Default Gear recommendation for LS7 powered 4th Gen Camaro

My 1996 camaro will have a 500+ rwhp LS7 with a built t56. The moser 9" rear currently has a 4.30 gear in it. The car is a daily driver in the summer and I am wondering if the 4:30 is going to be a little too much. I was thinking about a 3.89, but I am open to recommendations. Thanks

Put on a 28" DR and you will love that gear.

Agreed.

If you're stuck on the 26.5 I'd say a 3.73-3.89 would be nice.

I'd leave the 4.30's in it and see what it runs, don't those LS7 motors love to rev?

I had 4.56 with a T56 speed and 26.5" tires. Went down the highway fine. City driving had a lot to be desired. No 1st or 2nd gear at all.

somehow i had it figured that with a 3.50 gear in my car reving to 8 grand id be through the traps at about 140ish, with 28" tall tires.

only way to find out is to run it and see what it likes. id do that at least before changing it out at all.

Stick with those gears and go with a fatter tire.

I'm a little worried about how the DR will perform handling wise. From what I have read some are pretty decent. I did drive the car the moser was in, it was a high revving LS1 with 420 RWHP, a T56 and 26.5" tires. It seemed like it left a little to be desired, especially for daily driving. I saw the new Z28 with LS7 runs a 3.89 gear.

This picture is just stock with the wheels
