Sunroof and Interior Dimmer Switch - Wrong or updated part
So I ordered to the interior slider switch bezel for my 2004, that houses the interior lights dimmer, and sunroof control **** thingy.
I've been having that periodic leech on the battery, and it was way overdue needing to be replaced.
So I went out to replace it today, and of course... it's not right.
The rear portion of the mounting plate went from a U-style pinch, to a press-in clip.
The Dimmer switch, when plugged into the wiring harness, doesn't work either...
I got the part from Lindsay Cadillac, and they have it listed on the invoice as part number 19149454 .
Anyone have this same issue when replacing their slider switch?

Ok, so update, I took the car out for a drive tonight, and it looks like the dimmer slider IS working.
For some reason it didn't seem like it was working and when I put the slider all the way forward, it didn't even turn on the map lights, but now it seems to be working just fine.
So here we go. I ordered part number 19149454. This color is called "neutral" on all the part websites.
Cost from Lindsay Cadillac was 142.83 after shipping.
Here is what I mentioned when I said that there is a difference in the clips at the back.
Front u-shaped pinch clips are the same.

Second thing that needs to be done, is the new slider switch, has a little U-shaped plastic bit that straddles either side of the slider.
To remove that, you just need to put a bit of pressure on the front and back of it, and it'll just pop right off.
Why pop it off? Because it it's too wide to fit in between the old bezel where the slider goes.

So you can also see on the side of that slider switch, they also added in a new little electronic component.
The new bezel has a cut-out for that little part, so to re-use your old one, you just need to trim out that little portion. No biggie, no one will ever see it, it doesn't have to be pretty.
New one is on top in this photo, old one is on the bottom.
You can also see the difference in the size of the gap between where the slider goes and the two little compartments on either side of it.
That's why you remove the little U saddle piece from the slider. It won't fit between on the old piece.
