EFI to Carb

EFI to Carb
Thinking about going to a carb setup.
Do away with the EFI and PCM. Tired of not being able to tune my own car,
don't want to learn, via HPT or orthers.
Want to old school tune with a screwdriver.
What all would I need to make this change?
Track car only, No street.
Setup now, is in my sig.
Car runs 10.20's at 130.
Thanks

A high pressure bypass normally can be used for the factory fuel pump but you will need a larger return to the tank.
A MSD 6010 is the ignition used for the 24x reluctor. The intake is your choice and the carb you want/need.
Be ready to shop up the cowl, no biggie to some, even those that drive in the rain with rain x. But you will need to make sure water cannot enter the air cleaner/carb of it sits outside, or happens to get caught in the rain while at a track outing.

You can probably use the intake you have. Just plug the injector ports. The cam should be fine as well, because Im sure its optimized for the short runners of your super vic. Like Zane said, a bigger return of the fuel pressure difference, so you can get the pressure down in the 7-8 psi range. The big money part will be the carb itself. These guys on this forum will send you in the right direction as far as brand and size. Im not the carb expert like a lot on this forum are, but with your cubes and RPM range, Id expect something like a Holley Ultra HP 950 would fit the bill just about right.

I've never had more fun with my car since I've done my carb swap. I love being able to tune my own car and not being tied to a tuner. He'll half of drag racing is trying tune for fastest times (p.s. idk what your efi driveability is like but my car drives better w/ a carb then the efi ever did, but my professional tune may have not been that great). Just my opinion and my results

I've research the MSD 6010, but which kit to get?
There were several kits, what part # or anyone have a link to what I need.
This is a TRACK CAR ONLY. WOT TUNE.
Does the MSD 6010 have a rev limiter, I think I read it has a build in 2 step.
Any info on the MSD would be appreciated.

6012 would be the one for the 58x wheel and has the same features of the 6010. That is easy to figure out, not sure of the many different kits you are speaking of. Its a very easy setup to install and tune, and has all the necessary wiring. It uses the sensors your engine already has in place. Plug and play simple.

As far as carbs go, other than the new 950 HP I suggested earlier, a Dominator wouldn't be a bad choice with your setup, but you would need another intake for the 4500 base. Because your car is strictly a drag car with no street time, the idle quality wouldn't be important and with a 418 spinning to over 7K I don't think a 1050 would be too much. Just for a reference , my stock cube LS3 shows a 1-2 KPA restriction with a 1000cfm throttle body, so I think your setup would be fine with a large carb in a drag racing only set up, IMO. I must warn you again, I am not one of the carb gurus on this forum, so get other opinions before buying a carb! LOL

I went with the Quickfuel 750 Q series. When we started the engine the other night for the first time, It started and idled first time right out of the box. No choke. no babying it to keep it running. I am very pleased with the carb.
