Default Pfadt Tri-Y Headers

Merry Christmas to me...

Just starting a pre-emptive thread here... Jumped on the RIDICULOUS sale ColoradoSpeed had (20% off) and ordered a set of 1 7/8" x 2 1/8" x 3" Tri-Y longtubes with 3" off-road X pipe.

I should have them installed next week, along with pics.

I'd like to chime in here and let everyone know about fit and function when it's all said and done as well.

Not that I'm aware of. Just what's been "heard"... Can't believe I'll be the C5 guinea pig...

I would like to run to Geoff's and get a baseline, then install these and get back on. Geoff's dyno is accurate as hell. 8 months apart and my #'s were only 1 off each.

I'm unclear on two things:

1) does the end exit of the X pipe have flanges to mate to my Corsa.

2) will I need O2 extensions? I'd rather repin the PCM. Takes all of 15 minutes... Just unsure of the O2 sensor location on these C5's

Pfadt makes awesome products! The x-pipe will mate to the Corsa's, if you have the Pace Cars it will sound goooood!

You will need extensions with those headers, I'm not sure about re-pinning, that subject has actually never came up on the Corvette Forum before. I wish Pfadt was making headers whenever I ordered mine.

Good to know.

I'll check the length of the o2 sensors. Then check them in relation to the rears. If they'll reach the collectors from the rear location, then I'll be swapping some pins in the PCM harness.

I'd like to update this thread with another guys over on CorvetteForum.

He's H/C/I and went with 1 3/4" with off-road X. I'll just be full bolt-ons with 1 7/8" and off-road X.

We both plan on doing before and after dynos. Both with tuning I'd suppose. I know mine will be.

It'll be interesting to see the gains between us both.

I never knew WTF a tri-y header was until I looked it up last week. These things look like works of art, I'm interested in results.

I'll post pics when I get them in.

Hopefully if there's enough buzz, let alone results, Phadt will consider making them for FBodies as well.

I'll be posting PLENTY of pics of mine. Have no worries.

You're best bet to get them built for the FBodies is to post a thread in the Gen3 External section asking who all would be interested.

Trust me. They monitor the board...

Some dirt late model friends found tremendous power tri-y headers (both torque early and HP late). I imagine they're almost a guaranteed gain barring anything real unusual.

I had a thought...

Mast ls3 small bores with a Maggie heartbeat blower... ECS or A&A kit with a loud Procharger head unit...

But that's down the line.

Rather be prepared first. Plus, Ed said go with the bigger primaries.

Well, headers aren't even set to be manufactured till this week, shipping late this week, so I may not even get them before I go back offshore.

Either way, it'll be worth the wait.

Wonder if Phadt has a lifetime warranty like the rest... I didn't see any mention of it on the website.
