Parking lights always on/won't turn off
I am in the process of doing an ls1 swap in my 79 camaro. I hooked up all the factory wiring back to the motor.
1st problem: When I connect the battery the parking lights are constantly on no matter what position the ignition or the light switch is in. I have disconnected the headlight switch and the parking lights remain on. Everything else is working, except the starter. Which brings me to my second issue
When I turn the key to start nothing happens. No click or anything. I am getting just under 12v to the large stud on the starter. I am getting the same to the S terminal when the key is turned to start. I tried jumping power to the S terminal directley from the battery and nothing. I was thinking I had a bad starter until I jumped power to the S terminal from a jump pack, which did activate the selonoid, but the starter would just spin and not engage the fly wheel.
What the heck am I missing here? Any ideas?
None of these problems existed prior to the swap.
Can anybody see what I am missing here??
