Is this engine actually supercharged?
I recently noticed a 50th Anniversary C5 vert for sale, and the seller is asking almost twice as much for it as the average C5. One of the many things I noticed was that the listed power was 476 PS (469 crank HP I think). I looked for engine bay pictures of the car and could only find this:
For some reason this specific LS1 has a black box with the Corvette logo in the engine valley. Judging by the positioning, it could look like a supercharger cover.
To my gut, the box is not covering anything and the seller is trying to fool potential customers into thinking they've got a car which is far more powerful than the average C5 vert. However I have no experience whatsoever with supercharger builds and very little knowledge of them. Can anyone who knows a little more than me about this solve my doubt?

You would probably see something driven from the accessory drive system if it was supercharged. Possible to make that much power with bolt ons and cam though.
My guess would be it has neither and it is just someone who thinks they make more power than they do and their car is worth more than it is.

2 Things i noticed.
1) it has a stock air intake going from its stock location into the intake manifold
2) you can see the front of the intake manifold where the throttle body bolts up right underneath that cover.
My guess would be no, its not supercharched. there are no extra parts added anywhere to signify so.

If it was roots type you wouldn't see the crossover tube for the fuel rail going over the intake like you see in the picture. And if it was centrifugal you would see that blower sitting in the accessories.
Post the ad though, its good to see people fluff ads.

Here it is. It's obviously not in the US, and C5s generally fetch about €30k (US$45k or so) in my part of the world. As I mentioned in the OP, this one is nearly twice as expensive.

All 2003 c5 coupe vert and z06 have 50th Anni badges. But only like stated before the red burgendy 50th Anni has the Anni package I think it was a suspension and paint color package.
