Default Spinning to 7500

In a few months, I'll be up to the drivetrain portion of my pro-touring 68 Camaro project, I know the basics of engines, but not much more than that.

Considering this is a pro-touring project, I'd like to spin the engine as high as possible. The bottom end will be a forged shortblock w/ blower cam, and custom blower pisons, up top will be Stage II 6.0L heads, chromolly push rods, LS6 or possibly LSX intake, 50lb injectors, ect. and a D1SC procharger, probably going to push around 12 psi of boost (looking for 650rwhp)...I'd like to spin this engine to 7500, is it possible? If so, how?

Thanks for your time,
Ralph

EDIT: I should also say, has this been done before, if so, by who?

if you make peak at say 6500 rpms would you still want to spin to 7500? I mean its possible with what your saying but might not be necessary.

If I peaked at 6500, then no I wouldn't want to spin to 7500, but I'd like to peak higher, realisticly around 6800-7000 would be nice.

someone else can chime in but i thought FI cars always made peak hp a little lower than most NA cars...thats why i threw that out there.

My 17psi setup hit a peak of 746rwhp at 6800, I'm sure it would keep making more power to 7200-7400.

Here are the parts I am using and my reasoning for each:

FMS/Cam Motion 230/236/115/+2
-230 intake duration is a lot and guaranteed that we would make very good power and also peak close to 7000. I think more cam than that for a 346ci might be problematic.

Crane Double Springs
-Show me a setup that makes power to 7000 and I bet they are some hd springs.

Yella Terra 1.7's
-non adjustable, durable, high quality, I would have done HS's if they had been around maybe...

Comp R Lifters
-Shimmed at .010 preload they work

Rollmaster dual chain
-Reliabilty and peace of mind

IMO...

-240/248 cam would be too much no idea where it will peak
-224/230 might peak too low it's hard to say
-blowers usually push peak up 500 rpms (huge generalization)
-Valve spring selection is the most important part of the setup, MOST springs don't work over 6400 rpms

If I did it all over again, I would have tried 230/240//115 to see if the car makes more power with the bigger more race oriented split. The bigger the split the more racier the cam.

PSJ, Thanks for the reply!

Your setup is awesome, definitely something we can all learn from. I'm planning some of the same stuff..I was planning the rollmaster dual chain, also. I was looking at either the Yella Terra or Comp roller rockers, you've given me something to think about, thanks. Your cam is probably about as big as I would go, I was thinking something smaller, for more street friendly use, so as to have a slightly less aggressive idle, not sure yet though.

Might be a stupid question, but are the Crane Double springs titanium?

I don't know if they are titanium, I have the part # at work.

My cam is around .600 lift. I am running a lot of spring pressure. To get our desired installed height I went with a .100 longer valve setup from Manley.
