750 for sure. Look at the quick fuel q-series carbs. They are a great value and full of features you will need when you are ready to fine tune.

Honestly people have good luck with a 650 on a 5.3, id say unless your gunna build a SCREAMER youd be better off on the 750 between the two. Easier to tune for a dd setup and still have room to grow. The 850 will work, im sure you could put a 1050 dominator on it and it will run, but it would be a pain in the *** to tune to run right and might not ever run right. On a carb I always like the smallest you can use without hurting performance is going to be the best, ie. choking the engine out in upper rpms.

I'd say a 750cfm is plenty.

That ol 850 from your buddy is probably not even setup close to your motor at all and will run like ****. No joke.
If you could have someone help u set it up properly so it run right then it would be a deal if not then try to buy one that is set up for your engine and what u are doing with it. It will run right and u will be happy.

Ok I'll go with the 750 then now mechanical or vacum secondary's? Both are about the same price

Anything over 2500 stall converter, I chose mechanical secondaries.
