Default 81 ford fairmont # 4 (4.8, ls1cam, on3-76,60e, stock driveshaft and 7.5 rear)

with the pending sale of my 3rd fairmont already, i picked up another one the other day.

this is a 1982 four door,
i got for 500 dollars, new battery, tires, spare rims with snow tires on it
runs and drives of course
minty interior and my favorite type of exterior

here is what the plan is for now, all motor totally stock swap, stock cut down harness from a friend, even trying to re use the fuel feed and stock driveshaft just cut down or resized, stock rear etc, just get her running and see what happens. how it drives, how cheap it can get done, what kinda power it makes, and then go from there

i have a 2000 60e from the turbo truck i just swapped.
and a 2005 5.3l totally stock.

very curious to see how the stock driveshaft and 7.5 rear etc works out!

Do you get back out what you put into these cars? After I built something like that I wouldn't want to get rid of it unless its worth it.

I wished people contacted me for Fairmonts, Zephyrs, etc that I could scoop up in great shape for $500.

The only one I found within 3 hours of me is in great shape and the guy will not budge off of $1100 for it.

Looking forward to what you do with this one.

Nitrous is a power adder too! Much faster to install and cheaper than turbos.

Man.... if I didn't have so much time invested in my sn95 I'd put my setup in one of these. My kids would love it lol

Take Matt's fastest E.T. on boost alone and I bet he could easily match it with a decent cam on the bottle.

Pound for pound you ain't gonna go faster. You can boost a stock LS1 into the 10's but you really can't spray your way to the 10's easily. A 370 motor can run in the 8's in a 3800 lb car. Let me see you spray your way to an 8.90 pass in a 3800 lb car with a 370. You will use a ton of nitrous and might not get there.

Like I said… Matts fastest time in a Fairmont could easily be done with a nitrous/cam “JY dog”setup.

(The "even faster" statement above was about installation time... if thats whats bring on all of this?)
