Default How can I tell what mods have been done?

The TA I bought a couple months ago had the usual list of bolt-on mods already done when I bought it. Since the car had CAI, headers, exhaust, ignition, etc already done it makes me wonder if more serious mods were done as well. Is there any way of telling whether things like heads/cam, and a tune were done, without pulling apart the engine? These would be among the first mods I would want to do, but not if they've already been done.

Thanks,
Dave M

Hard to say. Cam, maybe by sound but that doesn't tell what kind. heads and tune, No way of knowing unless you get in there.

also most aftermarket heads have the manufacturer stamped on the front of the heads, so that would be another way and if you pull the valve covers and you have aftermarket rockers, them most likely the cam is as well and probably springs too if done correctly. if it has a choppy idle thats also another way

If it traps less than 110 at the track, it's most likely stock heads and cam. Or a really poorly put together setup. 100mph is stock trap, 107-110 is full bolton.
