Default Thinking about going to 18x10.5 Y2K on the rear.

kI know some have done it but I don't want any surprises. I was thinking about going to 18x10.5 Y2K on the rear so I can run 295s. I know what the BFH mod is but what is rolling the fender lip? Is running the 295s and a bigger rim worth the hassle? I'm at stock ride height now, will lowering make the wheels sit better or worse in the front? the rear? Thanks in advance.

With the offsets availabe on the C5 wheel you will not have to worry about rolling the fenders.

I was thinking about the 18x9.5" 54mm for the front and the 18x10.5" 58mm for the rear. Will these be OK? I does violate the information in "Wheel Offset/Does this fit" thread.

Exclamation

Those wheels fit. As how well is a matter of opinion.

An 18" X 9.5" wheel with a 275/35ZR18 tire and a 54 mm offset will fit with no issues, when it comes to the "look" the wheel will look very close to the stock 50 mm offset wheel, it may appear to be just a touch deeper in the wheel well, but very little.

An 18" x 10.5" wheel with 58 mm offset will fit, but inner wheel well mods are required, the infamous BFH mod. You also cannot install the wheels with the axle in full drop, the car will need to be jacked up by the rear axle to mount the wheels. Appearance wise the wheel will be deeper into the wheel well than stock. To get a nice aggressive look you'll probably will want to run a 5/16" or slightly larger spacer and extended wheel studs.

So have I confused you? Ideally the closest you can get to 50 mm offset MAX the better, my wheels are 38 mm offset on my Red SS, check out my photo album under "FIKSE"

H&R Springs makes hub and wheel centric spacer. ARP makes some good studs.
