Default Thunder Motorsports Reverse Split cam

hey. Im looking into getting the thunder racing reverse split 99-230/224-111 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA cam. Has anyone had this cam or have an idea how it would run with all the usual bolt ons then maybe some heads?Would it be best to get there kit with Dual valve springs?

You would probably need good tuning if your going to run a 111lsa in an A4.

Well I can probably get AMS to do my tuning with ls1 edit. If I get it tuned correctly how much power is possible with that cam?

I had that cam for a while too. I liked it but then was time to try somthing different. Made good power/tq. I ran comp '918 springs with mine. Only stuff I really needed to do tuning wise was Idle and hot start stuff, other than that driveability was good. Of course you will benefit from a tune though, but it will be driveable if a tune isnt in the near future

I had that cam in my daily driven A4 for over a year and a half and loved it. IT makes great power . I would recomend it to anyone. When I first got it It was concidered one of the larger cams but these days its seems right in the middle . My cam was on a 110.5 lsa and had a nice chop to it.

It's a great cam and makes great power. But it tends to beat up the valvetrain alot.

Thunder offers a nice kit. I would get that if you could. Its like $799 for cam, springs, pushrods and gaskets. Add another $100 for TI retainers. I would personally jsut go ahead and get that, unless you wanted to go with a different spring, but the comp 918's will be just fine

I've always like Absolute Speed heads. If I don't go with these, Patriot heads have been putting down some real impressive number latley. I might consider a set of their 'hand-finished' race heads

I went with the Absolute speed heads and havent looked back. almost 2 years of daily beating and no problems and they keep making power. If I didnt go AS I was going with TEA . Both were at the top of my list. Im pretty sure AS is going to be running a special on heads with in a week if they arent already . Id give them a call and try to save a couple of bucks.

Would this cam be good for say a 150 shot of nitrous? If not could you recommend me a similr cam that would be good for na and nitrous. Ive decided all motor isnt enough for me I need a lil more power to stomp on some of the kennebell cobras ive seen

For nitrous I would go with a traditional split and not a reverse split.
