Default A4 GTO rear gearing

I am thinking of doing gears in A4 my goat, the car is not a daily , only a weekend toy that may see the drag strip. Drivability is not an issue I just want it to be fun around town and yield the quickist e/t's that i can with my budget. Is seems like lots of people are scared of running 3.90's in auto cars but it wouldnt bother me from a drivability stand point. the GTO is a major step up from my last project car that had a 4 speed and ran 4000 rpm @ 65 mph and was aircooled on top of that. lol

My reasearch has told me that I do not want the car going into overdrive at wot, so i pluged the info for 11 second trap speeds and the 3.73 ratios and the 3.90's and got this. Used 1.00 for the third gear ratio.

3.73 @ 120mph with a 26 inch tall tire showed 5677 rpm

3.90 @ 120 mph was 5936 rpm.

The little research i did showed the shift point is safe to go to 6200 ish rpm on a stock ls2 so I feel i am safe with not going into o/d at my trap speed goals with the 3.90's. I added a bit of wiggle room at 120 mph realisticly it probably would be 110ish.

I think 3.90's would be ok sence the car wont see much highway miles, am i right? I just wanted to post this to see if i am right in my thinking/ research or to see if i missed something and i am actually dead wrong.
