Default Replacing fuel pump, do i need to use bucket?

Looking to do the fuel pump on my 94 TA. Can I modify it so I do not need to use the fuel pump bucket, or do I have to use it. By the way I have a racetronix kit for the lt1. I also have a racetronix kit with a generic install kit that has a rubber hose hose clamps, sock and rubber top for pump. Just seeing if I can use this generic kit. If I can let me know.

Yes on the bucket. You can make it work the bucket is to help keep the pump flooded regardless of fuel level or sloshing. I would also suggest a racetronics hot wire kit with the pump. They don't like to be ran at reduced voltage.

The bucket is what keeps the pump cool when the fuel level becomes low enough to where the pump is no longer submerged. Using a fuel pump without the bucket will drastically shorten its life span.

The racetronix pump kit is just plug and play with a direct fit pump anyway, shouldn't need to modify the bucket at all.

The top of the bucket needs to be glued back on after you replace the pump. I was informed that the bucket needs 24 for the adhesive to fully dry.
