What will I need in order to drift my car smoothly because I just brought it and I want to win California street drift trophy in the summer so any performance tips /upgrades ppl think will help ....

Whts the best mods for my a4 ss
I want to do
3.73s
Pro-kit springs
Rear corvette wheels/tires
Slp fan switch
Loudmouth 1or 2
And a top end kit

Will this be enough to drift smoothly
And keep cool .

That sounds like absolute torture on the stock rear end. Right off the bat I think thats gonna be the first thing needed to upgrade.

check the rear gear section ,and the suspension section .check out Texas Speed for cam kit ,or maybe a bigger engine .

Top end kit
Slp loudmouth 1 or 2
Tranny cooler. /shift kit
Slp manual electric fan switch

Search search search.
Shocks should be at the top of the list (koni SA's or higher end).
Trans cooler for the auto, possibly an oil cooler and definitely an trap door oil pan.
Eibach springs are crap, forget those. Look at either strano springs or custom springs with rates you select yourself.

i dont know much about drifting but i would think suspension upgrades would be helpful.


i hate to admit this but i wouldnt mind trying it...on someone elses car.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I would think that a manual trans would be the way to go for a drift car.

People will tell you these cars can't drift and thats a damn lie cause theres some guys out there doing a damn good job drifting their f-body.
This guy does it in an auto... I can't find his youtube channel that has more info but if I remember correctly he's near stock both in terms of power and suspension. While its not the best and most efficient way, it will work. However you may want to start saving for a 6 speed swap in the future.

In addition to the mod list you have so far, suspension is very important. I'd recommend better springs than eibach like bmr or strano and shocks (koni, qa1, bilstein) are a must. And theres more you'll need also, but I'm sure springs/shocks are enough to just get you started.

Also I would leave those 305/35/18s and whatever wheels they're going to go on for street use only.... Tires aren't cheap, especially in that size. So leave them for street use only and keep your stock wheels for drifting. It's not like you need traction so the big tires won't do anything for you. Your stock wheels will do just fine and replacing tires will be much easier on your wallet. I'd suggest becoming friends with a used tire shop.

I'd love to drift my Camaro but I don't want to mess up my pretty SOM paint haha. I'll probably buy a drift missile sometime in the future to mess around with.

Not sure if you read my post in the suspension section in your thread, but Ill repeat: Getting springs without shocks isn't going to do you any good, it will likely make the car harder to control during a slide.
The factory decarbon shocks (black/orange ones) are ****, shocks will make the biggest overall improvement in how the car handles, behaves, feels and how controllable it is, Ive got damn near every suspension mod, ill tell you whats worth it and whats not.
So if you plan on getting aftermarket springs, plan on also getting good aftermarket shocks (bilstiens, konis, KWs, Penskies, NOT drag shocks like QA1s, strange, Afco, and not autozone shocks like monroe - those will only make things even worse)
On another note you may want to take what other drifters do with a huge grain of salt, as these cars are totally different than your typical drift car like 240sx's, etc. Typically trying to set these cars up like one of those is going to leave you with a hot mess.

Food for thought: you need smaller tires for drifting, and all cars are setup different. changing the front to rear tire sizes is a massive amount of control in a drift car.

example: buddy runs a h/c LS3 powered S14, with a 275 rear tire. any bigger and it becomes more difficult to drift it.

find a big *** parking lot and start practicing.

This is what i would do, Focus on suspension, rearend, and tranny. Suspension wise you dont the geometery to change while drifting. The facorty stamped steel pieces will flex, ALOT. Panhard bar, i would get the boxed control arms, and a good Torque arm setup. Obviously new shocks and struts. as for the front i would replace all the bushings, You do need traction in the rear. Alot of people mistake drifting for powersliding. Having traction allows you to pull away from walls, or whatever else your drifting around or at, also gives you speed. There is a build thread here on tech of a member that is drifting his trans am and has built a steering angle mod, you will need that. As for power i would do simple things, headers,intake, maybe a cam swap, injectors, throttle body, and tune. Tire wise, you do not want to be shreading 305's, you will be homeless in no time. go with some 245/40 or 45 if your running a 17 or run whatever used cheap tires you can find on cl lol. you will want to swap a 6speed into it, or a muncie 4 speed lol good luck man love seeing the 4th gen's going sideways

Looks like it would be really fun! What rpm do most people keep them at? I know the imports it sounds pretty high.

a lot of people leave the camber set at 0 including my self, Don't really need it IMO unless your doing extremely high speed drifts plus it lets you get more slides out of them
