Default Smog laws....AZ, NV, CA

Has anyone dealt with the new enforcement of local smog laws despite having the car registered in another state? I heard Nevada and Arizona have implemented already....Cali is next!

My car's been red tagged for the past 4 years. Depending on the fine I don't think I would care. No emission laws in ND and Cali Law can't prevent me from registering. Unless you are talking about smog requirements for base.

My car is tagged in Texas, and I live in California. Hell, my Texas Plate comes back to a CA Address.

As long as you are active duty order and you never officially change your state of residence, most states allow you to maintain your DL and Car Registration even with an out of state address.

AZ doesn't have smog unless you live in Tucson, Phoenix or Flagstaff. Being active duty would exempt you anyway.

I heard that on Navy bases(not sure about others) you have to have your car registered on base and you have to have a smog certificate in your car. If you are pulled over its an automatic 6 points on your record for base driving. So Im not sure how true that is but Im not interested in having my car flagged. I only got one of them bitches hahaaha.

My car was smogged in AZ in 2009 with a smaller cam and passed(real sniffer). I know Hawaii isn't listed in the thread but they are one of the few (only) states that enforce registration for EVERYONE. Maybe because it's an island. You can keep your out of state plates but still have to get the usual safety and registration. I am not sure how the other states would handle it if your state of residence is somewhere else.

The back of my RX had four extra stickers......

It's called ECARS, doesn't matter where it's registered or your legal residency. Operate it on the base, Needs to be smogged if the area requires it.
