Default LS fenderwell headers

Am thinking about trying to modify a set of tri-five fenderwell headers for my 55 Olds 88 custom (LS2). No reason other than I think it would look really cool to see the pipes in the fenderwell area. The 55 has a large open area behind the front wheel.

Does anyone have any idea which chevy motor has the exhaust ports closest to the LS, big block or small block?

I would just look for a cheap set of un-coated headers and see what happens.

I figured I could get flanges laser cut locally.

Thanks for any input.

Big block is closer to the LS exhaust spacing.

Start with the BBC set, there are Flanges you can buy from GM or other aftermarket suppliers (Speedway).

Get some pictures up as you do it.

Thanks for the help! If I end up making something worth showing, I'll post my results for sure.

Keep in mind the bore spacing between a BBC & LS is off 0.4" per cylinder, so you'll be doing some "adjusting"...

I figured on cutting and fitting to the LS openings. Should I not be worried about the huge 2" primaries for these BBC headers? Won't that affect performance?

I was looking at some of the small block designs and it seems like it wouldn't be that tough to spread (cut & weld) the center pipes apart? Assuming I'd also have to move a third port too.

I might be biting off more than I can chew, but if I can find a good deal on the headers I'll give it a shot.......
