1996 Impala SS "Turbo LS 5.3/4.8 Project" I decided to post on here because this site would be the most helpful to help me decide on what exactly I need to get for my build, the vehicle is a 1996 Impala SS which is a 4,000 lb car, I'm planning on a turbo 4.8 or 5.3 haven't decided on which engine but people are saying 4.8's are better for boost, 4l80e transmission with a HD2 shift kit, I'm not sure on a stall but most likely going with a Yank or Circle-D converter, 3.42 or 3.73 gears on the stock 8.5" 10 bolt rear end, etc.
Whatever information you can give me will be appreciated, I've been researching on turbo builds for the past couple of months and I think I'm obsessed now lol, I even started my own group page on Facebook called Boosted LSX for enthusiasts to ask questions and talk about builds etc.

Ha, I've been on that FB page for a little while and didn't realize you are planning pretty much the same build I am. There are some pretty smart guys answering questions on there, but WAYYY too many douche bags that want the 800 whp for $500 recipe.
