Default LS2 Swapped Miata VS Porsche GT3

Here's a vid of my car not too long after I finished my swap last year. The GT3 is a buddies car. This wasn't his quickest run, I think his quickest was a lower 12. My car was putting down 430/410 at the time.

My car:
  • Stock LS2 bottom end
  • LS3 top end
  • Small cam
  • 25% pulley
  • Light Clutch / Flywheel
  • GTO T56
  • 3.23 rear
  • 225/15 RA-1 tires (road race tires)

His car:
  • Stock GT3

Track Side Video

In-Car Video - same run *volume is low*

Looking forward to hitting the track again this year with some drag radials and a little more power

Nice. never driven a V8 miata...but I have driven a lowering springed, stock car plus turbo setup...and I gotta say,..it was a blast to drive for the 3 minutes of track abuse. Reminded me of a heads and cam vette honestly lol. V8 in, it must be pretty wild.

I haven't watched the video yet, but i know you will Kill him, I ran one at the 1/2 mile shootout in Ga, I spun BAD off the line .. stopped his pull and creeped on him but the gap was to big from all the spinning, However he trapped 129+ i trapped 131+

Nice Miata!!

I've driven the car probably 7K miles since I "finished" the swap and I have to say, it NEVER gets old or boring. I've gotten used to the speed/power but the looks I get from other people are priceless and the sound of car always makes me smile. Aside from the shifter kart I've been racing for a number of years, I've never had so much fun on 4 wheels.

Here's the slip from that run. I figure if some drag radials can knock a couple tenths off my 60' I should be good for a mid-high 10 sec run....and a swift boot off the track

Oh, and here's a shot of the engine bay. Tried to keep it looking factory.

Awesome man! What do you use for a rear end? How is it holding?

It's a CTS Getrag rear with custom axles. Despite all the problems the Cadillac guys were having with them, they seem to hold up pretty well on a lighter weight car. No failures so far in any of the swaps that I've heard of. We'll see how it does with some Mickey Thompsons in a couple months.

hahaha NA for life! I'll probably end up doing a larger displacement sleeved block but I'm done with turbos...for now.
