Default Turbo K Members

Did some searching and couldn't come up with anything.

For you guys that are out here running F Body's, I need to be pointed in the right direction for a K Member. Years ago I use to hear about how going with a different K Member for a street/strip car wasn't a good idea because of member it self couldn't take the abuse on the street. Then I think it was UMI that came out with there heavy duty unit and had success. Yet I don't see any one running one of those any more.
So, what K Member car I run that will give me enough room for a single turbo setup. While being strong enough to deal with daily driving. Hate buying parts twice.

we have a couple different options that are street proven for years and the KM013 is best suited for single turbo LS setups and gives good room for a downpipe around the motor mount/frame rail area

If you are doing a lot of street driving you should use a mild steel k member. Chromoly tends to be brittle and can fatigue and crack over time. Mild steel is much more forgiving on the street.

Some k member manufacturers might say using chromoly on the street is fine but I would bet they only use chromoly. Check with someone that uses both materials and see what they say, I think they would be less bias.

I know some people will disagree with me on this but this is based upon my experience and knowledge on metal.

Just installed a bmr turbo k member with vertical mounts. Way more room and I'm not worried about it breaking.
I'm a big fan of umi as the rest of my car is umi but the bmr seems to be the most popular plus the design with vertical mounts gives even more room. Bmr makes a real quality product.

Ok thanks guys for the help.
I shouldnt be worried about different brands of turbo kits having fitment issue with different brand k members should I?
In other other words the BMR K Member will work just fine with a On 3, Hurron Speed Turbo kit correct?

The bmr turbo k memeber is where its at, you can run a 4inch downpipe on both sides and it will never break.

Call Huron speed, they have used both k members in their builds most likely.

They will give you the best information on their kits

I will throw a plug in for Eric at Midwest Chassis. Give him a call and discuss options. I am not sure what he current lead time is but I got mine pretty quickly this time last year.

Yeah not really lol
I'm really not trying to take out my umi RR k memeber. I like it and I don't plan on running 4"+ piping anytime soon. I have long tunes in there right now and they fit very well. I'm willing to lose my a/c. It went out last year anyway lol
