Default what are these fittings on my radiator for?

I bought an aftermarket replacement radiator (for a 71 Camaro) and am unsure of what these two spots are for?

Any ideas?

I think one is a temp sender port maybe?

If so could I use it for the steam vent on my LS1 engine?

The top one is for a heater hose return. Some cars and trucks had the hose go to the radiator instead of the intake, but don't ask me why. The lower one I'm not sure, but the radiator I bought for my last '71 C10 had that fitting too, and I plumbed the steam line to it. worked great. The fact that it isn't at the top must not be an issue since '99-'07 Chevy trucks the steam line is about in the middle of the tank just like that.
