tranny problem with 5th and 6th

tranny problem with 5th and 6th
hey guys i was hoping to get some opinions on what you think the problem may be, 1st-4th gears shift mint, no problems but when i shift from 4th to 5th and then 5th to 6th it either will grind or grind then go in and then pop back out randomly...couple guys at work were telling me its probably bad sincros..was just looking to get some more opinions and what i can do to fix the problem..dont really know too much about trannys...thanks in advanced.

Definitely something wrong with the 5-6 slider and/or friction cones and/or keys or possibly the 5-6 fork and/or pads. That narrow it down for you? LOL
Unfortunately there is no way to tell until you pull it apart.

lol all kinda foreign language to me lol my car is in storage now..so ill have to pull the tranny out in the spring..little too cold here..-30 degrees with the wind here kinda sucks lol but sounds like i might have to do a rebuild then is what your saying?

interesting..ok. are there any recommendations for any companies who you would have do the work if you were in my shoes? obviously without knowing the problem that might make a difference but im just trying to gather some info while the car is off the road so when i get it out in the spring i can get on top of this problem as quick as i can...

last time i read, tick performance does a stage one rebuild that includes... forgot oops! call them and they will tell you exactly what it is. but for $999 you ship them your transmission, they fix it, and return it to you. free shipping both ways! they'll tell you exactly how to ship it. there's like a 13 step process on their website. pretty simple if you don't know how to do it yourself. and VERY reasonably priced too!
