Default EZ EFI 2.0 LT1 Compatibility

I did some searching and didn't come up with anything that was really helping me out so I figured I'd ask, I'm looking to try and get away from the stock obd1 computer system in my 95 TA. The ez efi 2.0 system sounds like it would be a pretty radical plug and play computer, but I can't find anyone running it on an lt1. I'm hearing stores that the FAST computer doesn't like the opti very much and to get around it you need to run a crank trigger.

I'm just curious what it would take to put this system on my lt1 and how well it works.

Edit: link to what I'm looking at - http://www.fuelairspark.com/fas/ez-e...-fit-typehtml/

Thx for posting as i didnt know of EZ EFI for the LT1 and im looking at upgrades for the opti myself.

The FAST w/s is worthless for the LT1 conversion information. But they do provide a diagram for using the opti dist with their XFI harness which uses a Cam/Hall Effect connector & sensor somewhere? So im thinking the opti dist remains.
Here is a opti to XFI harness: http://www.fuelairspark.com/fas/xfit...connectorhtml/
And here is their main harness for the LT1: http://www.fuelairspark.com/fas/efi-...systems-page-5
Also a fuel injector harness for the LT1: http://www.fuelairspark.com/fas/xfit...5-7l-6-1lhtml/
Youll need a PC to ECU cable: http://www.fuelairspark.com/fas/xfit...ecu-cablehtml/
Finally the XFI 2.0 ECU: http://www.fuelairspark.com/fas/xfi-2-0tm-ecuhtml/

Thats near $2,500 in hardware and the opti is still in use. Im think this piggy backs on the LT1 PCM otherwise u lose all your "house loads" like the instrument panel w/ speedo and tach, trans control also. My guess is the FAST controller will control the injectors only. Im not seeing timing control in their information. So u still need the GM PCM and opti to control ignition timing.

Dont know if thats what u want - not me,

Why use a aftermarket ECU and still run the Optispark? For almost the same as the EZ EFI you could put together a 24x kit. You would need to make some changes to a LS1 harness yourself, but you'd get a lot more out of that package.

I looked at all the big aftermarket ECU's and ended up getting the Holley Dominator setup. It self tunes like all the Holley packages, dual wideband O2's, and runs a wastefire ignition setup with 58x crank wheel - or any ignition setup you'd like. It will run a 4l60e or 4l80e also. So far setup has been straight forward..

I've actually been looking at this particular system: http://www.fuelairspark.com/fas/ez-e...-fit-typehtml/

I've contacted comp about this computer, but they replied saying it didn't work well with the opti. Should I consider the xfi system instead? I'm looking for a flexible self tuning ecu to help with a near future e85 conversion.

Also thanks for the responses, this site helps me out all the time
