Default Should I buy a used clutch?

My car still has the stocker and it's starting to give me some problems. I planned on either going to SNL and letting Steve do the whole job, or just buying the clutch and hydraulic kit from Tick and doing it myself one weekend. Obviously everyone likes to try to save a little $$ and I've been seeing quite a few used Monster's on here for sale. My question is, do y'all think it's worth it to save 100 - 200 on the clutch itself by getting one lightly used? And, just going ahead and buying the necessary hydraulics from Tick?

Either way I will be replacing everything and getting the Tick master that everyone swears by.

Opinions please

I wouldn't do it in my car, especially over only a couple hundred bucks. I would save a touch longer and buy new. I knew a guy that loved used (heavily) clutches. We gave him so much trouble. After the 5th or 6th $150 used clutch he could have bought a decent one new.

That's what I am afraid will end up happening to me.

Never. Not worth the hassle...especially if it blows apart.

I won't buy used high dollar parts like that ever again personally. I didn't buy my clutch used, but my rear I did and I could've saved money probably buying new.

Used clutches would be like used rubbers. Likely glazed and worn out.
