Default H/C/I/bolt on/level2 60e/Stall VS LOTB **Video**

Dyno sheet in the morning, lol... (juice)

I had a good time cruising with "modern muscle" guys out of San Antonio. Did a small hill country run, and then some baller BBQ. Once we got done eating, we where checking out each rides. One TA had a pretty good set up, which was as follows: 150 shot (not used) Ls1, 243 ported heads, Fast 102 intake and TB, long tube headers, dumps, Performabuilt stage 2 4l60e, yank 3600 stall, nittos, don't recall what gears, and a monster 246 248 custom grind cam, with Tune. I asked him if he would give me a run to compare my ride pre and post tune with his and re run soon again. As some of you know I'm waiting for an opening to go see Pat G and have this base tune finalized.

So we went off, once and proceeded with the 30 roll. At the third honk, we both hit it, and my ride loses traction, slightly let off and back in it. By that time his momentum was slightly better than mine, but continued gunning it. I was by his side then started separating once in good rpm, and by 130, I had at least 2 1/2 to 3 cars on him.
He definitely had a strong 160k + mile LS1 and give him props on his set up.
I am trying to upload the phone clip, but having trouble since I'm out of wifi range. Yes i did it from my phone, while racing... not the best quality but at least i have proof,

Also, can someone guesstimate an ls1 rwhp with his set up? Forgot to ask.

Thanks for reading, I'll have a video up soon...

Here is a side by side pic... My TA on left.

Just got a phone call... The TA I raced kept on running with other rides on the way home, more than likely spraying that 150 and his engine gave up.
Spun a bearing and all sorts of crazy sounds and knocks from its engine.

RIP LS1, the curse of Fenix is back.

I'd be pissed off... but hey, it happens. Glad I was able to run him and see first hand what his set up was all about.

Nice job! I'm surprised how quickly you starting pulling...especially with a little wheel spin

Sorry to hear that he spun a bearing. That happened to me last summer, and 5 grand + later I have a nice new forged motor lol

Yeah thanks, I was actually surprised myself. A couple of guys had told me his TA was strong NA... my old set up had 5.3s and a 224 cam, with the smaller 92mm fast set up, And was doing work. This set up seemed a bit more aggressive.
Forged motors get expensive quick, regardless of what you go with.

Tires may need to be next...

I don't want to spray my auto ls1 now lol. I did 328 whp with ported tb/cat deletes/slp lid and tune... It's pretty healthy. On 26 inch tall mickey thompsons at that. Want to spray 100 but i have never used nitrous

If you're smart about it you won't have a problem. That guy obviously lacked some common sense. There are guy I know who have been spraying 150 for years and have had no problem. Doing back to back to back runs, especially spraying etc on a stock shortblock isn't exactly the best idea...especially with 160k on the clock.

How many runs should you do at the most back to back? 2?

I bought tr6's and have a nitrous kit, but going to get tr7's just in case and a new fuel pump lol.

I was thinking 100 shot because i have 3.73s and 3rd only goes to 120-125 since i have stock cam.

I agree with you 100% Nitrous is a bit Stressful as it is, and when you spray continuously Doing Back To Back Runs from one city to the next and then Do It again on the way back... something is bound to happen. That TA had to be in the 450-460 range, kfc_or_bust had a cam a tad smaller than that and made 418, cam bolt ons with ls1 heads and intake. 150 shot on top of all that is breaking the rule of thumb, of not going above 550 rwhp on a stock bottom end LS1. The biggest shot I put through my ls1, was a 125 hit... and I made 427rwhp NA.

Either way, it was fun while it lasted...

Nitrous is what you make of it... with 328 whp, you can spray 150 shot and not worry about it. You'll definitely need a new transmission sooner than later. Get a racetronix Fuel pump, br7ef plugs, timing puller, and a good wet kit.

Good kill. Your bird runs damn good for being on the base tune, can't wait to see it on a full tune. Sucks about his motor. On a side note, I want his wheels lol
