Well, this subject seems to come up every week.....
A few years ago SHON HERRON the Lt1 m6 bolt on record holder converted his car to Ls and went 1 tenth faster as he explained it was not worth the hassle!
Many have done the conversion and are happy...
The_Merv has quite possibly the ABSOLUTE best conversion writ up on the web!!!!!!!!

youll need the motor, transmission, k member, probably the wiring harness(I'm not sure exactly how that part works or what all you need there). Not sure if there's more than that probably, ive never done a swap though. I assume you will need headers for the ls motor.

Yes Transmission is different. K member. Wiring Harness.
So figure around 1200 for the Trans. 2k for a running LS because its an "LS" just get an LQ4. K member could be had 100 give or take. Wiring harness and computer least a couple hundred.

So say like 4k to swap to make 300rwhp.
A cam swap with all the parts from AI is 1295 and youll lay down least 350 at the wheels through a T56.
Or get their Head/Cam combo 400-450rwhp for 2895.
Or for 1900 get a LE3 Setup least 380rwhp.
Use 400 to get pacesetter headers.
Spend 1000 in suspension. (1000 gets you double adjustable coils in the front and double adjustable shocks in the rear.)
Spend 700 on a nitrous setup.
You'll make at least 500rwhp with a 100 shot.

Will slaughter LS cars all day.

Right.

Go search Vikings.

Just so you know UMI prefers Viking over QA1 and both over Konis.

It would probably be cheaper to do a 4.8/5.3 swap and throw nitrous on it. You can even use your lt1 trans if you dont feel like spending more money, just buy these:

But less cubes (4.8/5.3) is bad and the thing will be a turd off the bottle. Those truck motors have the upper hand for boosting because of low comp but they're still limited by having cast pistons with thin crowns. Would be better just to spray the LT1 and keep your torque.
