Default budget turbo setups

Im currently working on my first LS build,a 1999 LM7 iron truck block, bored to 3.905,flat top hypereutectic pistons with ARP rod bolts. Stock rods and crank. Im wanting to do a mild turbo build with it. Nothing crazy just fun for the street. Im trying to stick to the cheapest budget possible and try utilizing as many stock parts as possible. Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as head, cam, intake etc choices? Thank you

Use stock heads. Use stock intake unless it won't fit under the hood, then get an LS6 intake.

Cam doesn't have to be huge. I would personally run the stocker and then go up from there. An N/A cam isn't going to be the best choice. You can go with a small off the shelf can and be plenty happy on the street. Even a stock LS6 cam does well in boost.

I was thinking stock 317 heads,LS6 cam/intake and keeping the stock truck manifolds. Does that sound like it'd work for a while?

I have learned one thing...... "Budget and "Turbo" do not go together!! Good luck with your build.

usually it goes like this,, budget would be to just install ls6 springs and your turbo system and go have fun .., then that leads to turning up the boost , then you lift a head more than likely with stock head bolts, 17-18psi , ask me how i kno ,, then you add some nicer head bolts or studs, go up to 20-22lbs,, with a already maxed out turbo at 15lbs, so now you want more power, you now go buy another turbo , bigger , and possibly a cam, and bigger fuel system to match it all.. etc , then before you kno it your running a 88mm turbo haha
