Yes the solo lap record is faster. I nearly killed myself in heavy Sunday traffic, with the car starving for fuel on corner exit for the last 2/3rd's of the track.
Never got a sub 8 on video though. No doubt she was good for 7:40's on a clear dry track.
Mods are in my sig, plus toyo R888's.

7:40s is awesome. New Z28 ran a 7:37, in the rain, but still... I didn't know f-bodies were cable of reaching that level at all. And you only have springs, shocks, sway bars? What do you think the fastest possible time is for a street legal f-body? And the jap/euro/exotic fanboys say f-bodies, better yet all American cars can't turn LOL.
There is nothing magical about what badge a car carries.
With more power and some aero, you could do a sub 7 and be street legal.
I didn't realize how bad the firebird was aerodynamically until I drove the m3.

That was impressive, but I would never, ever drive that close to the limit with a passenger in the car.
Especially not at that track, too big.....take too long to get somebody to you if something happened.
Just something to consider.
Great driving though.
Edit
If I was over there with my barge I would roll out on track with you.

Although this same weekend my friend asked me if I thought I might have developed a bit of a God complex from having survived so many near misses.

I'd say add roughly 15 seconds. That's a 8.22 (video) or a 7.55 (theoretical 7.40 time mentioned).
Anyway, with my full interior 1999 Z28 with stock power I don't think I've ever reached BTG 8.07, so thumbs up!!!
