Mach 1's still got it...... Coming to work this morning I came across a black LS1 WS6. I've seen him around town before and I'm pretty sure he is an automatic. Well I got past him and he keep close to me. We both turn and with my gears it sounds like I'm giving it something when I'm really not. So I see him get on it a little until he sees that I am normal driving and he lets off. Well I get over to let him pass but the light ahead catches us. There was someone in his lane so he gets behind me. It has been a while but I know this song and dance! 
Light turns green and I leave a little aggressively but I short shift into 2nd. Mainly not to get an unfair jump on him and 2nd to give the MTs a chance to hook. He takes the bait and I short shift into 2nd gear but still get about a seconds worth of spinning but thanks to Mr. 4.56 gears I do not really fall out of my power band. He slowly starts falling back and I powershift into 3rd (YEP, still can!) and the rear gets a little happy but not bad. All while this is happening he is still falling back. Hit 4th and drag it out to about 90mph and let off with him about 3-4 lengths behind me it looked. Silly LS1s

So when there is absolutely no way to have an even start, and an automatic that most likely let off, may have had to downshift again.. its a race. Ill keep that in mind, will be easy to rack up wins.

Let's see if I have this right. You're at a stoplight Stopsign........roughly 2 cars ahead just sitting still mind you. You take the hit and by the time the guy uses a sun dial to determine if your even on it you gain another 2 cars.......he must have instantly stopped your pull and you shut down early to avoid him rocketing by you.

Good, gotten your car back to the track?
No. Other than putting gas in the car I haven't done anything. But I'm now in a hobby that costs WAY more than modding cars! Started out cheap, not so much anymore. But the return is nice.
No I'm not back and I have never known to troll this section. You are thinking of someone else.

Gonna try to paint you a picture here. He was directly behind me. (not two cars as you think) Light turned green and I made a bunch of noise and gave it some throttle. A soccer mom in a mini van would know what was going on. I saw he was playing catch so I short shifted to let him get a chance. At that point it was all on and I was steady pulling. Seemed like a low 14-high 13 second LS1. (basically stock)
Also you need to factor in that with it being cool outside and not hot it allows my shaker to help spool up the power instantly with no lag. So his "Ram Air" technology gave him 0 advantage. As did his 346cid motor vs my 281cid motor.
Had he been next to me and it was an even start at a redlight against my Mach...
