On our derby car Lsx we pull the pipes outta the pump and tap the hole then use threarded plugs. Works great.

It doesnt say anything in that thread about his question....

OP, there is a good thread on bullet that has this information in it, its a write up on the right and wrong way to do this with the options of looping, or tapping the holes, plugging and using a freeze plug on the inside with a hole in it for bypass and some other very good info.

I'll see if i can dig it up.

Huh? OP wants to delete the heater hose. The thread gives the hole size of each. If you can't determine the proper tap/plug to buy for a 5/8" and 3/4" hole it's time to hand the wrenches up.

no I can handle tapping the threads for plugs. but there is something else people do in the pump. your not supposed to just cap them the water needs to flow threw.aand just didn't know if they where drilling a 1.4 hole next to the groove the thermostat sits on or something to that affect.

Not so, you can just cap them. Performance LS crate motors come from GM capped. You still need your steam ports going to the highest point on your cooling system, or a surge tank.

I removed the hose connections and used soft plugs no other mods and have had no problems... Just pressed them in with some loctite retaining compound. Mines a truck pump dont know if that makes a difference.
