Default notched pistons..

LQ4 shortblock....Pistons were fly-cut for the LS3 heads that were also shaved .050, cam is 110 LSA cam and .620's lift using stock .051 gasket.
Not 100% sure on what was took out and/or piston top thickness left over the ring land.
Rings were gaped for a 150 shot (I know now some keep stock gaps without issue).

So how safe if I keep her on the fat side, pulling 4-6*, not looking for every ounce of HP.

If you keep it fat it will hurt it. If it's over timed it will hurt it. Pulling 4-6 degrees from what? Clean tune-up is the safest.

Rich and over-timed will hurt parts quicker than a proper AFR and less timing. Make sure your NA tune is right, then pull 6-8 degrees. Read your plugs and start adding back a little timing at a time.

Or pull a **** ton of timing and lean it out even more to get the heat back in it. Always more than one way to skin a cat.
