Default New GM motor mounts with LT's

I'm getting ready to drop motor out to put in new motor TSP 1 7/8 LTs and ORY. At this time I have a brand new GM set of motor mounts to go in with new motor.

Are the new GM mounts good or crap with LT's or would it just save me a ton of trouble in the future to go ahead and put a set of poly engine mounts in while everything's out now and sell my new gm set.

I would go with polyurethane motor and trans mounts.

Its not that the GM units are crap, they just flex more than the poly units. So with the bigger exhaust being closer to the floor the motor torque usually allows the Y pipe to bang on the floor every time you get in the throttle.

Prothane makes a good combo for the engine/trans... WS6Store has it for like $75.

Another vote for poly. No regrets with mine. I'll be doing poly trans and torque arm mount in the spring, too.

Do poly. And also, you don't have to drop the engine to do headers and MM's. Remove the old exhaust manifolds, then do the motor mounts, then install the headers. Done.

This. To make things easier, take a look at the stickied thread at the top of this section to learn about making your factory-supplied jack your best friend during the motor mount swap

LS1's coming out in next few weeks soon as the cars back from paint shop and the built 6.0 going in so I'm doing everything all at once including rebuilding the front suspension.
