carb cfm??????
I am looking to buy a new carb. I was looking at a 4160 750cfm. I got to asking around about would that be to big. I used the cfm calculation on summits site and they recommended a 600 for the street and a 700 for racing. Would a 600 be to small, would a 650ish be to big on a stock lq4?

CFM calculators are DUMB
Most are based on feeding a poor flowing unresponsive v8 designed when Eisenhower was president. In essence they do not apply to LS motors.

90%+ of the 6.0L guys are running at least a 750cfm.
IF it's a street car, a 650VS will be fine....even a 750VS will work fine. NOW IF you plan on hitting the strip....get a 750DP

Super Chevy magazine did a carb comparison and when they switched from a 650 to a 750 on an engine dyno they got 1 horsepower.
I run a 670 VS - everyone said it was too small - until I ran 11s

You said stock LQ4, but what intake, exhaust, trans and gearing? Any potential upgrades planed?
When you look at the HP these motors put out they are more like big blocks than small blocks. Smaller carbs will always work, you just never know how much power you are leaving behind.
Like said above the overwhelming majority of guys on here run a 750 or larger on their 6.0L motors. It won't be too big

(I beat my car hard and drag race it a lot)
The 700 was just never designed for that much torque. I had a "race" 700 built by a performance transmission shop and I took it back three times for warranty repairs. It is sitting on my garage floor now collecting dust. I don't have it in me to throw away $1700.
