LS1 Ls2 Alt charging issue?
97 bmw M3 Sedan. I'm running a Ls2 gto engine, with a ls1 wiring harness, and computer. The alternator wire is only a single wire from my ls1 harness, but the plug coming off the ls2 alternator is a 2 pin plug. Is it possible to use my ls2 alt with the ls1 harness and computer, and if so how? I have the charging wire coming off the alt, but it's only putting out 11.99volts. I have not test the Ls2 gto alt, but I am assuming it is good, only had 46k on it. Thanks for the help guys!

You can run the alternator no problem. What you need to know is how the alternator is wired. The LS1's from Camaros are wired differently than a GTO. I went to a 04 GTO pcm and it needed to be reprogrammed by changing the platform code to a Camaro for it to charge. For you since you are using a LS1 411 pcm (I assume) and harness you will need to wire it just like the LS1 with a single wire to the 'L' terminal only. The 'F' terminal is not used.
