Default Hot spots on used flywheel and pressure plate

Ok, I have an LS6 clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. These parts have under 1,000 miles and 20 track passes on them. I removed them when I started to over power the clutch after some additional mods.

The plate and flywheel have three hot spots on them. How can you tell if they are no good? I thought hot spots were normal but some guys are telling me that the hot spots mean it's junk. I think the clutch would be fine to use for a stock or bolt-on car.

Any thoughts?

It's theoretically possible that you could re-surface the PP & FW, inspect the disc and re-break it in. Have a clutch re-builder take a look at it instead of "some guys" who are scared of any heat mark they see.

Pics would help with diagnosis, definition of "hotspots" can vary...

Aye,

Did it get just hot enough to cause discoloration or hot enough to soften up the metal and make the hot areas no longer flat? The later needs a resurface at a minimum. The former you can get away with. If you can "feel" the hot spot it probably need to ne surfaced.

PS Steve at SNL is awesome. Just sayin.
