Default Fast 92mm intake #2 and #7 ports

I was getting ready to install my fast 92 when I noticed that the ports on #2 and #7 have an extra ridge/hump that the others don't have. Why are they there? I was thinking about taking the intake to work and cleaning up the runners a little. If these serve no purpose then I will do away with them.

Don't take as much off on those two ports when cleaning up the runners or you'll go through the shell exposing the seal on the other side of those hump/ridge. If you do happen to go through then lightly push a small dab of RTV into the hole and give it time to dry.

FYI, I know because I did it myself.

I wonder why they would make those two ports smaller?

Ummm, optimum air distribution? I'm pretty sure FAST has done a ton of research to figure this out...

Maybe, but I have never seen an intake with extra material in just a couple of ports before.
