Default 4L80e questions

so this isnt quite fbody related but is LS related so here it goes ...lol

just got a decent 2003 Chevrolet 2500hd that i plan on using as my DD and rarely tow vehicle for my trans am and k5 blazer, well i plan on doing a 6.0L swap to the k5 blazer sometime this summer as the 350 is dying, and also isnt LS XD, but i also wanted to originally get a 4L80e for the blazer also, well after getting this silverado i was wondering...

how hard would it be to take the 4L80e out of my 2003 silverado and put it in my k5 blazer and buy a 6L80e to swap into my silverado for better MPG and all?

i have HP tuners and etc, is it basically a swap and retune for new tranny or no?

thanks!

Need an E38 PCM to control that 6spd Auto. Just get another 80E and keep your truck together. The 80E is tougher anyways.

maybe im wrong, why im asking, not challenging but, dont the 6l80Es come in the 07-08+ 2500-3500hd trucks? thought they where the same as the 4l80E strength wise just a 6 speed not a 4

thanks for the responses though, yeah its still up in the air, just something i thought about if it was worth it or not

WAAAAY more work than you're thinking. The older gen3 PMC won't controll it like was said earlier. To swap it over would be a lot more work than it would be worth for a very slight MPG gain.
