Bought it used and wasn't told it had a nitrous nozzle in it or had a small crack where the throttle body bolts to it. What brand throttle body does this look like? Will that crack hurt anything and can that nozzle be took out? Also noticed the blade has a hole drilled in it. Will that hurt it, will it effect my cars idle?

the crack is going to cause a leak or a bad seal. not sure of what todo about the nos nozzle. If this what me i would be getting my $ back and moving on. Sorry man hope it works out

I wouldn't be too worried about the crack. Some epoxy will help keep it from getting worse and worse case scenario you can put a dab of rtv between the TB and the intake.

That TB on the other hand looks like junk. But then again so is my Fast brand throttle body. You might try it but if the car won't idle properly I wouldn't waste any time and just **** can it for a replacement.

First thing you should be doing is trying to get your money back if you where not aware of these things first. Second is to post up the user name of the guy who sold it to you if that was the case. If you plan to keep it I would most defenitly be worried about the crack as you need a good tight seal at the throttle body.

I would JB weld the crack and paint it. Pull the NOS nozzle and check the thread pitch. Get a plug to match, wrap it with thread tape and call it a day. Oh and toss that TB in the garbage..

If you can check you IAC count, that will tell you if the TB has to go. If it's at zero the hole is too big. You can even tell that a press wasn't used to drill the blade. It looks like the nitrous fitting slips on over the TB opening. What is that set crew for?

I hope you got a really good deal for that setup. It's pretty trashed. Sorry. :-(

It's supposed to be a Fast 92 throttle body but I can't find any numbers or anything engraved anywhere on it to identify it. It may work out fine but he definitely didn't describe the intake or throttle body like he should have.

I'm up in the air on whether or not I should keep it or send it back. I gave 550 for it, I should've expected something to be up with it. I hate to send it back and have to pay to have it shipped back but I hate to keep it if it's useless. The intake is painted black now in beginning to wonder if it's been repaired in other places and that's why they painted it. I don't think the guy is a member on here or if he is idk. I bought it off the FaceBook F-body Craigslist list page.

I've messaged the guy I got it off of. He's being real nice saying he's sorry I'm not happy with it and he'll refund me 100 on it Thursday and send me a free slp lid. I'm still not sure if that's a good deal and I should keep it or send it back.

Thanks Thunder that's what I thought a fast was supposed to look like. If I take his 100 back I'll have 450 in the setup. Should I just keep it or try to get a full refund?

I would keep it for that if he is sending you $100 and a lid.

Oh, in case you aren't aware before you try to install the intake make sure you have the ls6 crossover tubes for coolant and button head cap screws to replace the bolts for the valley cover which is under the intake. If you install the intake the stock bolts will crack the bottom of the intake. Make sure it's not already cracked under there while you are at it.

Thanks Thunder. I checked the bottom as soon as I pulled it out of the box and it looked good. I checked it over. There at the throttle body is the only place I see a crack. He did just mention it might need a inner gasket. What's that supposed to mean? I've never messed with a fast before. I've only dealt with ls6 intakes.

The intake comes apart and there is a rope seal that zigzags through the runners to seal the upper to the lower. It also gets dabs of silicone in the corners (you should be able to see where because they are like that from the factory too.



Also pick up some intake gaskets while you're at it. They are like $25 and that's better than pulling the intake again because the used seals leak.

Get all your money back. The guy sold you junk. You can patch work it together. But there will be head aches down the road. Just get rid of it. He knows he sold you junk that's why he is trying to sweeten the deal.

What you do w/ the seller is up to you. As for the crack, the one @ the bolt shouldn't be a problem & could be filled w/ a cheap epoxy (JB weld), as mentioned above. It's the crack next to it on the inlet to the plenum that would eventually cause a vacuum leak if left untreated. To treat this crack you would need Splash Zone A-788 epoxy that won't fail under the vacuum load.
