Default IAC position vs. idle

Hi everyone-

I just built a LT1 383 with the GM hot cam. I'm just wondering everyone's opinion about where to set the throttle body idle set screw versus IAC position. I have it set now with the IAC reading 70 on scan. Any tips?

Your TPS comes into play when you adjust the throttle stop screw. What I've always done, even on my SR 396 is set the stop screw just to the point of being able to see daylight out of the blades. I have an adjustable TPS and set that at the stock settings, which I believe are ~.7v closed and ~4v WOT. It has ALWAYS worked for me.
You can elongate the holes on the stock TPS to make it adjustable. Here's a link that may help:

you want IAC to be 30-35 at idle, engine at operating temp.

TPS .67vdc +/- closed & 4.5 vdc full open

if not doing drill mod, you most likely need to slot the TPS holes once you get IAC counts right to them get TPS vdc back in spec
