Default New design for aje k member?

Ordered my swap k member from summit and noticed the design is a little different from most ive seen.

The bottom bar is square.

That's how mine was as well. I had problems fitting the a arms in and the mounts for the steering rack but it was very minimal clearancing

Could you elaborate a little on the problems?

I just put one in over the weekend and the steering rack if you get one side lined up, the other bushing will not start.

On my A arms, stock ones will slide right in, but my UPR tubular A arms won't start at all, they look way off for some reason.

I have the exact same setup on my other car with no issues, so I know "it should" work. My other car has the older round tube k member though

The older tube style where better imho.

My a arms are aje and they where tight to go in. I dont have a manual rack yet to try the rest. The tubes that hold the rack slid right in.

Ah-ha, quality control. The reason I did not buy a second AJE after having the first AJE.

My A arms would not slide in at all. I could get one bushing to fit but not the other side and vice versa. I took a rubber mallet and beat the tabs out a little for the arms to fit. Everything seemed to bend back in place and tightened up the gaps just fine when i tightened the bolts. My manual steering rack didnt fit on one side at all either. I had to take a dremel and slightly modify the hole in the K. Everything tightened up fine but it was annoying and i would probably buy a different K member in the future.

I would have went team z if i had known the new design worked with the f body pan.

I got the k member in the car today with not much hassle.

Quick Reply: New design for aje k member?
