Default How many of you match the head side to intake, as well

When porting the intake, how many shave the head port inlet, as well as the intake side?

Usually, if the intake port overlaps into the head port, the intake port is then shaved in order to match the head port on that side. What about the adjacent side of that same port? The adjacent side now overlaps on the outside of the head port in some cases. If this side of the port is not matched by shaving the head side of the inlet port, there is a step between the intake port & the head port.

Do port matchers just live w/ the step in order to not modify the head or do porters shave the head port in order to achieve a true intake port match. We shave the head side. Just curious 'cuz haven't seen it mentioned when discussing port matching the intake to the head.

Suppose epoxy could be used in order to match the inlet side to the step on the head side, but, that would risk coming loose & entering the valve/combustion chamber area.
