4.8 heads on 6.0
Is it possible to run 4.8l heads on a lq4 and what are the advantages for this. Obviously it would boost compression but is it a direct swap and would u see a descent hp gain

It will boost compression and is a direct swap, BUT it will cause valve shrouding because of the small combustion chambers on the larger bore.
I personally I wouldnt waste your time and money swapping them.

They will however lose power or be just about even with 6.0 heads, so it's not really worth it unless you port them.

you will gain compression with any set of 4.8 heads but if its the 06 or earlier you will lose flow because of the smaller valves and runners. The only 4.8 heads Id put on a 6.0 is the 07 and later 799 or 243 casting heads.

will you gain torque from the larger 6.0 pistons?

4.8 heads are the same as 5.3 heads of the same years. Putting them on a 6.0 will just choke it. As above, 243/799 heads will do you the most good on a 6.0

Yup. Sloppy Mechanics used 799 4.8 heads on this 6.0 with just a cam and I forget what injectors. Impressive for something so simple. The ultimate budget way to wake up a tired 6.0 it seems.
