Broken hood bolt insert??? HELP!
So im trying to bolt on my VFN sloped ws6 hood and im tightening the bolt and im about halfway there and i hear it crack. The metal insert is now just spinning inside the hood. I cant get the bolt out or in? Is my hood trashed now?

Is it a metal hood or fiberglass?
I'm not familiar with F-body parts, but if its metal, you could maybe drill a few small holes next to the original hole for the bolt, and spot weld the nut back in place, if the surrounding sheet metal is thick enough to allow this.
If its fiberglass, I maybe cut the head of the bolt off so you can get the hood off, then position the hood so that you could maybe pour some resin in to the cavity where the nut is to sort of recapture it. Then use a visegrip to get the rest of the bolt out and redrill through the nut to make room for a bolt when you put it back on.
These are just some ideas, not sure how to go about this without the hood in front of me. I wouldn't say your hood is trashed though.
Good luck
