Recent mild carbureted road race build
Late last year we completed an LS1 build for SCCA road racing.
FYI:
We used an ex Lingenfelter ASA racing series short block. These are really just blueprinted stock with an ASA cam, Katech Rod bolts, single stage dry sump, ATI damper etc.
* freshened short block
* replaced the ASA cam with a 550 lift 236/246 106 Crane Cam
* Cloyes timing chain
* 243 heads...stock
* ISKY 165 A valve springs
* better push rods
* ARP head bolts
* Comp rocker trunion uprgrade
* Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
* Holley 80541 650 carb
* 3 stage AVIAID dry sump system
Made 487 HP and 450 torque on superflow engine dyno
over 400 lbs ft torque from like 3400 to 6500
Motor built by Byron Koury in Deland Fl

Have not installed that motor as of yet in one of our cars.
Here is video of a very similar motor in an SCCA GTA car of our teams, winning overall at Daytona in 2011.
I put it up under another thread in this forum, but here goes again.
Best lap was a 1:56.9, which is outstanding for a less than 500 HP car.
