Default Fuel surge tanks, Do you guys use them?

Seems like a pretty good idea for guys that can't fit or don't want to hack the stock sending unit and need to move alot of uninterrupted fuel without fail.
i.e. forced induction/nitrous setups. I thaught i had this great idea to make a tank with 1 or 2 pumps in it that holds only 2L-1 gal of fuel for my Chevelle.
This way i wouldn't have to get an aftermarket tank cuz my OE tank has no baffling for fuel inj. Or have to buy a $600 drop in deal. Well...As you all may already know, drag and road race guys have been doing this for years!
Oh well, one more thing i didn't get to invent...
Thoughts?

A fairly standard approach with fast road, track, rally, race etc cars in most parts of the world.
Seems much rarer in the drag community though, and almost non existent in the US.

A tank of 2-3 litres is usually more than adequate for any car.

The radium stuff is nice, but pretty expensive. Although the internal pump setups would make for a very neat and compact install.

Here basic tanks are very cheap, although as they're less common in the US, dont see many for sale.

Wouldnt be difficult for any alloy fabricator to make one though

Actually just go to ebay and type surge tank and dozens come up ranging from 49.99-400.00.

There are a number of them under 100 and include fittings.
