I bought a 97 Camaro SS that had a small engine fire near the starter which melted the bottom half of the AC box. I have a donor car that I can replace everything with however I would like to know if its possible to cut the AC box off from within the engine compartment and install an AC block off plate without tearing the dash out of the car? I intend to use a hole saw on the block plate so the heat and defrost can still be utilized.

I'd rather go this route than pull apart 2 dashes out of 2 cars to swap everything over.

This car will not be a daily driver just a fair weather/track car. I have already removed the engine.
