Default could low oil level make starter continue to run

So before, everything worked normal. Then all of the sudden on cold starts my starter continues to run. It's never the same amount of time either. Sometimes it's for one minute, sometimes up to 3 minutes.

But once the engine is warmed up, if i crank it the starter cuts off immediately. Nothing has changed, no new work done, nothing electrically has changed. The only thing i noticed is the oil level was super low. I refilled it and it cut off line normal but also it was still fully warmed up so i don't know if that fixed it

The oil leaking onto the starter will! That is likely why you have low oil. It can also short the starter out. Both things are bad.

No codes and no oil leaks. I just figured I'd ask because strange electrical things happen for strange reasons on these cars it seems. Thought maybe the low oil sensor might have something to do with it. A wild guess i know

Check the starter for oil contamination.

Replaced the starter. Problem fixed. Glad it wasn't a wiring or electrical problem
