Default coolant pipe to back on intake

does anyone know what the purpose is of the coolant hose that comes off the radiator near the overflow hose. this hose runs to a metal pipe that then continues to the back of the intake I believe? I bent the pipe trying to pry off the hose connector like an idiot.

It is to bleed air/remove steam from the heads. Important part of the reverse flow cooling system on the LT1.

Just use standard auto parts store bulk hose. I think it's 3/8".

The correct hose is Gates 18308. My steam pipe is also dented where the rubber hose was crimped to the hard line. I believe the dent happened at manufacture because I cut the crimp off with no prying involved. Push your new rubber line on past the second bead in the steam pipe and clamp it there so it seals correctly.

mine got bent bad lol so I took a dremel and cut it. bought 2 ft of hose and routed it and cutted where needed. took a hose clamp and clamped her on tight and no leaks at all.
