L99 SS vs 05 GTO
Last night coming home from dinner with the wife, we happen to pull up next to an 05 IBM GTO at a light. I didn't think anything of it other than "that's a nice color." Anyway, light turns green and we both roll out normally until I hear him hit it in 1st gear (he was a m6). I mash it around 17mph and happened to get a first gear downshift. The camaro starts spinning it's 245 blizzaks like crazy with the tcs trying it's best to stop it. Immediately stopped his pull with our nose at his door. Third gear I'm dead even with him, fourth gear just gets worse. By 130, I shut down with about a 2 foot gap between our rear bumper to his front.
Seemed like a cool guy since he was tapping his brake lights as he turned off. Not sure about mods on his car, but it did sound like he at least had exhaust on the car. Sorry for no video.
*cliff notes*
L99 SS camaro puts about 1 car on 05 GTO M6 from a very low roll. Race was about 17ish mph - 130.

The 245 blizzaks are her winter tires (wife's car). When the weather breaks, I'll switch them out for her TSW Nurburgrings with 275s up front and 315s out back. Yeah the tunes definitely wake the L99 cars up!!!

Got called out at a GTO gathering at Englishtown.
I told the guys there that the car went 12.1 @ 115 with just headers and a tune.
30 GTO guys checked my car out top to bottom... one even hooked it up to HPT to check the tune to see if anything was changed for a cam.
Went out and ran 12.1 @ 115 all day.
They ate crow
Back to the cammed L99 though... it was a stock manifold car with a small cam, intake, tune. I took him pretty easily but he did hang around down low.
Everything I ever said about the GTO was backed up with videos.

I've never seen a stock goat run that fast. I owned a 06 gto. 6 speed. Torquer v2 cam. Ported intake. Full exhaust. Monster clutch. Vera ram intake. 423rwhp. And my goat only ran 12.0's
At 114mph.
At 114mph.

And it's ~2-300lbs heavier. My GTO was 3625, 6spd with 17s. The auto with 18s was ~100lbs heavier. And a C63 amg is just about 3900lbs.
No bullshit here... always had a video when I was talking about my GTO.

yes, engine and trans tune. Other than tunes, all it has are Borla mufflers, LSR cold air (did nothing in terms of hp) and a magnaflow x pipe in place of the resonator.
it ran 12.90 @ 107 directly off of the showroom floor (about 500 miles on the clock). after tunes and the mufflers, it went 12.68 @ 109. hasn't been back to the track since. it will be back because of the challenge i signed up for on here lol
