Default Steering Rod removal

Doing the header install, and need to remove the steering rod. Do I need to remove the two bolts towards the top and then the bolt close to the steering rack to remove it?

I just unbolted the one right in the middle. At least on mine its like a slip yoke, so I unbolted the one half way down the shaft and slid the two halves apart.

When I was doing my header swap last fall I tried the "slip yoke" technique and that damn sleeve just would not move. It looked like it should, but I couldn't get it to move, so I ended up removing the bolt down at the steering rack and I think just the lower bolt of the 2 up by the firewall.

This is what I had to do as well, then I had play in my steering wheel after the install. Had to go back and mess with the lower bolt on the steering rack, re-tightened it and then the slack was gone.
